In Mumbai, I made a series of paintings and pastel drawings to create a collection of holes:

​Geographic holes (sinkholes, caves, landslides) / Signs of overexploitation of resources (quarries, mines) / Animal habitats (burrows, termite mounds, nests).

​These holes are the scars of the territory.

But if they bear witness to the alterations undergone by the landscape, these holes are no less optimistic. Treated as possibilities, voids to be filled, possible futures, they become the receptacle of a poetic imaginary world, they offer space with which to recompose a new world.
